Suesh Flat Top Synthetic Brush

I was giddy when I first saw Suesh boutique at Alabang Town Center. The store is loaded with tons of make up brushes, tools and imported cosmetics. You can even find Graftobian and RMK there!

So back to the flat top brush, I was amazed on how soft this brush is. It is probably the softest brush I have ever touched! Lol.

It is made of synthetic hairs which is the right brush hair to use for liquid type of make ups. And I am also sort of addicted to flat top brushes, because they make the application of liquid/cream foundation seems absolutely incredible. Using flat top brushes can provide a lot more even and a better coverage compare to applying foundation by your fingers. They also give an almost airbrush look if you use them correctly and carefully.

Take note also of how fine those hairs are!

The brush size is actually just right. It is not too long and not too compact which I like. I can also see that its brush hair are tightly attached to its ferrule. I like the its design too! It is simple yet it looks professional. Lol. I am just being biased because I love black! Lol.

This brush seems perfect when I first glanced and touch it, but there are few things I feel like this brush needs to improve, such as:

1. It should be wider and bigger. If you are always in a hurry, this brush will not work for you. I feel like it is small for a foundation brush.

2. It should not be that stiff. It is quite difficult blending the liquid foundation using this brush because it is stiff, though it is good for buffing the product on to your skin.

Recommendation:

Use this foundation brush if you have the luxury of time applying your make up or for special occasions. However, if you are such a busy person who has a little time to do her make up, use another brush which is bigger or wider than this.

Rating: 3.5/5

Price: PHP850.00

Will I repurchase? No. But I will try Suesh’s other brushes!

Anonymous 1: Most lip liners can be drying, so you need a lip balm first. You can just use it to line your lips for reshaping it or apply it all over your lips to intensify the color of your lipstick. :)

Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer with SPF20

Before the invasion of BB creams, there were tinted moisturizers first. Tinted moisturizers, like BB creams, evens out your skin tone while protecting your skin from the sun because they have SPF. However, tinted moisturizers offer a lighter coverage compare to BB creams in general. So when you buy a tinted moisturizer, do not expect a heavy or even medium coverage! Lol. They also serve as primer for foundations! When I was in college, I am actually fond of tinted moisturizers because it does not feel like putting on a mask on your face. They just make my skin brighter and healthier. Lol.

Anyway, my make up review for today is about the (probably) most famous tinted moisturizer that has ever been created. Lol. I got this uber cute 5.5 ml sample when I bought the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation. I was so giddy when the SA handed me this one because I really wanted to try it!

The shade Nude seems perfect for my skin tone! :)

I love it because…

1. It is water based and it is so light weight. You can barely feel you have this on your face.

2. Oil free, for the win!

3. The packaging is so practical to use. When it comes to liquid products, I prefer tube type packaging instead of the bottle ones, because it is easier to use without messing around.

4. It is hydrating for the skin. This is perfect for those who have dry skin.

5. It has SPF 20!

I wish…

1. It has an oil control power.

Tips on applying it:

Of course, the easiest way to apply this Laura Mercier moisturizer is by using your fingers and spreading it out entirely on your face. Although, you can also use a flat top brush for a more even coverage.

Swatch:

Recommendation/s:

This is perfect for people who have a good skin to begin with. yet looking for a make up that can protect their skin from the sun. I would also recommend this for people who have dry to normal skin because it is such a good moisturizer. Whereas, if you have blemished skin, stay away from this product! It will not cover any of your blemishes. I suggest that you buy the Silk Creme foundation because that offers an amazing coverage. By the way, wait for my review on that! :)

Price: PHP1900.00 for 50 ml product. Not bad!

Will I purchase it? Yes!

Anonymous asked: What's a good brand for a blending brush? Preferably inexpensive (nothing above PHP 1000) and not sold online? Thank you.

Check out Suesh! :) Eco Tools and Marionnaud I think also have blending brushes that are of good quality. :)

Anonymous asked: How can I do simple or smokey eye makeup? I have hooded eyes. :(

Why are you sad for having hooded eyes? Taylor Swift and Blake Lively both have hooded eyes yet their eyes look amazing. :)

Few Tips:

1. Apply highlighter to your brow bone.

2. You need two or three shades of eye shadows for smokey eyes.

3. Use the lightest shade for your lids. The darkest shade to your crease area. Do not forget to blend it out! You may use the medium shade to help blending the two colors.

I hope this helps! :)

Anonymous asked: Have you tried/do you have MAC Ravishing? If you do, can i please request a review on it? I am planning to buy one and i really need your help because i find your reviews very reasonable. Thanks alot in advance dear! :)

I have tried MAC Ravishing once on a MAC counter, but I bought Shy Girl instead. Lol. They are almost similar (Both are cremesheen.) except that Shy Girl is more of a nude while Ravishing has more peach tones on it. And actually, I regretted not buying Ravishing before because I found out that its shade is prettier than Shy Girl. Lol.

When it comes to the cremesheen formula, its ‘sheen’ looks lovely,  although you have to make sure your lips is well-moisturized before you put it on because it is quite drying and it emphasizes the lines on your lips. For its staying power, it is not that amazing but it isn’t bad either.

Thank you! :)

Sleek iDivine Eye Shadow Palette in Acid

I dream of watercolors and rainbows; it makes life a little less fucked up and a little more lovely.

It seems crazy for a neutral girl like me to buy an eye shadow palette as crazy as this one. But… but I cannot resist on how playful and fun this looks! Though, I feel like I would never wear the bright orange, green and yellow shades! Lol.

This palette is composed of matte and shimmery eye shadows. The matte ones are chalky, but the shimmery ones are buttery and very pigmented.

This is another palette from Sleek’s iDivine Eye Shadow collection, which are all mineral-based.

I am really fond of Sleek’s packaging. It’s simple yet pretty. Or I maybe biased because I am very fond of black packaging? Lol. In addition to that, it comes in a sturdy case and a huge mirror. Yay for quality and practicality! Lol.

It contains a lot of product. And for PHP800, I think it is worth it!

My favorites are the gray, olive green and purple shades. They are all gorgeous! However, my least favorite is the white shade (too chalky and it barely shows!).

When it comes to the shades included in this palette, they may look pleasing to my eyes but in my honest opinion, they are not that unique. You may even find a lot of dupes for them.

Will I repurchase: Yes, but another palette from the iDivine series.

Recommendation/s: If you are seeking for affordable yet great quality shadows, buy palettes from Sleek. They are definitely worth every penny. Although, I cannot assure you that every eye shadow in this palette will live up to your expectations.

Btw, I think this palette is best suited for make up artists who do avant garde make ups. If you are a kind of girl who just buy make up for personal use, maybe you should try Sleek’s iDivine Eye Shadow Palette in Sunset or Bad Girl.
